Daly City, CA (June 2019) – Over 100 different breeds of dogs, their breeders/owners and dog lovers seeking the perfect canine companion can get to know each other up close and personal at the 2020 Golden Gate Kennel Club (GGKC) Dog Show, Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26 from 8am – 5pm at the San Francisco Cow Palace. Tickets are available at the door for $19 General Admission, and $16 Seniors & Children 4-12. There is a Family Plan (2 adults, 2 children) for $59 and children 3 and under are free.

As the largest benched dog show on the West Coast, dog lovers get their chance to meet a huge variety of dogs competing from around the world. A benched show is organized with breeds grouped on special benches, where owners, breeders and canine experts answer attendee questions about finding and caring for the right dog for their family and lifestyle. The show features seven groups of dogs: sporting, hound, working, terrier, toy, non-sporting and herding. The show includes confirmation, obedience and rally competitions. The winner of each group will go on to compete for the top award–Best in Show.

“This has been a labor of love for most of my life,” commented Dick Behrendt, President of the GGKC Dog Show. “It has preserved the legacy of these special dogs and their unique breeds and is great family fun to attend. There will be judging, competitions, Dog Show Trials daily, dog fashion shows, and Fly Ball demonstrations. Dog rescue and foster home adoption organizations will also be on site to guide folks in finding their forever companion. It’s a unique event for dog lovers with a rare opportunity get to know hundreds of breeds of dogs, all assembled in one location over two days. There will be knowledgeable experts and handlers to educate you about particular breeds, with almost every type of breed represented.”

“We’re excited about 2020’s new show, and are now underway assembling our top breeders and a large spectrum of the world’s top breeds,” said Michael Stone, Golden Gate Kennel Club VP and Show Chairman. “It’ll be a great show with a few new surprises, with breeds from around the world.
